Trends in branding, like those in fashion, constantly evolve. Following, and perhaps incorporating elements of these trends, even if subtly done, can make a lasting and positive impression.

First impressions always matter. More interest in your brand eventually leads to more conversions.

Every business has a community of shoppers, participants and followers. By understanding who is paying attention to you and how they interact with your brand, analytics will guide your decisions about marketing.

Consider how your brand could be ‘freshened’ when you review these 2023 trends:

1 – Interactive Branding
2 – Data-Driven Branding
3 – Flat Design
4 – Minimalism
5 – Bold Colors

1 – Interactive Branding
Sometimes it’s just not enough to write a blog or upload a picture online. Your followers expect businesses to be more accessible, and the information they receive through videos, pictures, or narratives also make them feel more engaged and part of the community. Especially if you interact with those who post on your website.

Advertising is a 2-way street intended to catch the interest of the target market and offer a benefit. Interactive branding can be imaginative and tells compelling stories about your organization and its people, goods or services.

Interactive branding strategies will engage your customers. For example, a health brand might have a sleep calculator on its website so users can rapidly find out how much rest they require every night.

Quizzes, polls, questionnaires, tailored mailings, graphs, graphics, videos, interactive maps, animations, and other graphic aids are all examples of interactive content.

2 – Data-Driven Branding
There are massive amounts of data online and analyzing this information will help you understand your consumers’ relationship to your company. Thankfully there are analytics and intelligence technologies that collect, organize, and analyze the data to help with product planning and market analysis.

The information gained could improve operating efficiencies, client satisfaction, raise ROI, and differentiate your business from competitors. Combining customer focus with data-driven strategies will help you target your valuable advertising dollars.

3 – Flat Design
The number one branding trend is flat design. This approach has been going on since the mid-2000s, when touching screen displays first became popular and digital marketing took off. 3d imagery, 3d buttons, heavy gradients, shadows, etc. became popular. Supposedly to get people used to a touch screen phone because people up until that point were so used to touching buttons, and they needed to mimic that on the phone to get the people on board with it using a touch screen. So the entire goal of the 3D design was to bridge that gap and get more people on board with adopting that technology.

Now flat design shows up almost everywhere.

4 – Minimalism
Another major trend is minimalism and includes such things as limited use of copy, larger font sections of the market materials, or blocked-off branding, use of shapes and other simple patterns. This layout is clean and easy to read.

5 – Bold Colors
We’re seeing more and more brands starting to use vivid pops of bright colors. Some people say this is a response to the gloom of the pandemic and os intended to lift the mood and encourage people  to respond positively.
